Ryan Hedges

PLANO, TX -- It is with deep sorrow that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our beloved Ryan Hedges on August 14, 2025. Ryan was not only a cherished family member and friend but also a remarkably creative and gifted individual, who graduated from the University of Toledo with a degree in Urban Planning and Geography. He had an extraordinary talent for sharing his knowledge of Geography, always igniting engaging conversation and making us look at the world in new ways.

Ryan was deeply passionate about animals and devoted himself to animal rescue. He found immense joy in decorating for holidays and special events, with Christmas being his favorite time of year. His meticulous attention to detail was evident in his stunning Christmas Village displays and beautifully arranged trees. He had a knack for ensuring that no Christmas tree went without a little extra fluffing!

Beyond his many talents, Ryan's love for his family and animals was truly unconditional. He is preceded in death by his loving mother and father, Janice and Donald Hedges and is survived by his devoted husband, Tim McGovern, his godson, Alex Brewer, his sisters and brothers-in-law Angela Hedges and Sean Boyles, and Chris and George Diaz. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Kyushutsu and his many other animals that he provided a safe haven, and countless family members, friends, and even acquaintances who were touched by Ryan's gentle spirit. May we all hold him in our hearts forever.
