It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lorenzo "Lonnie" Gonzalez III, who departed this life on January 9, 2025, at the age of 60. Born on May 21, 1964, Lorenzo was a devoted husband, a wonderful father, a cherished friend, and a respected leader in the restaurant management industry for close to 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his nephew, Jerry "J.J." Gonzalez, Jr.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Maria Esthela Cristina Duron Perez; children, Lorenzo Duron Gonzalez, Marcela Alejandra Gonzalez, Matthew Alexander Gonzalez, Zoey Christine Gonzalez; parents, Lorenzo and Margaret Gonzalez Jr.; siblings, Ida Ann (Ricardo J.) Arredondo, Ronald Lee (Angela) Gonzalez, and Rene Gonzalez. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Crystal Ann Gonzalez, Ashley Ann Gonzalez, Ricardo Arredondo, Jr., Christopher Ryan (Lindsey) Arredondo, Michael (Douglas) Havron, Alenna (Ernesto) Tamayo, Alyssa Leanna (Andrew) Lu, Elijah Lee Gonzalez, Melissa Renee Gonzalez, Isabella Marie Gonzalez, Alejandro Raul Gonzalez; grand nieces and nephews, Victoria Celeste Camero, Kayla Marie Gonzalez, Jeremey Jadon Gonzalez, William Alexander Gomez, Jacob Justin Gonzalez, Emerson Rose Havron, Lincoln Rose Havron, Alyvia Grace Tamayo, and Alyana Hope Tamayo; along with numerous other loving relatives and friends.
A Memorial service will be held in his honor on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Primera Iglesia Bautista, located at 1320 San Bernardo, Laredo, TX 78040. Pastor Dorso Maciel will officiate the celebration of life, inviting all to gather from 4pm to 5pm. Following the service, fellowship will be held in the church annex from 5pm to 8pm.
