Lee Ann Weigum Obituary
She was born in Roscoe, South Dakota on July 17, 1941 and came to Lodi with her parents in the early 1940's. Lee Ann married Vern Weigum on September 26, 1958 and graduated from Lodi High School in 1959.
Lee Ann was busy as a homemaker raising her three children. As they grew, she was active with the youth group of Temple Baptist Church where she also served as one of the church librarians. Vern & Lee Ann purchased the family nursery in 1983 and worked side by side for the next twenty-five years making their business a success. Lee Ann was a talented floral designer and was proud to be a ten-gallon plus donor to Delta Blood Bank.
In her retirement she loved to travel, read and lovingly fill her time by caring for her husband, children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook and also enjoyed her two dogs Amos and Annie. Lee Ann and Vern celebrated their fiftieth anniversary in September of this year.
She is survived by her loving husband, Vern Weigum of Lodi; son, Jeff (Marlene) Weigum of Lodi; daughters, Renee Weigum and Lynn (John) Macdonald of Lodi.
She is survived by her grandchildren: Jennifer, Julie & Joshua Weigum, Casey and Tori Braun and Nicole (Dan) Grauman, Lindsay, Ben, Olivia and Eli Macdonald. She is also survived by her siblings: Don (Marilyn) Lutz of Lodi, Phyllis (Jerry) Herzick of Lodi and Perry (Sandra) Lutz of Roseville.
Lee Ann was preceded in death by her parents Bert and Martha Lutz and siblings James and Shirley Lutz.
A private graveside service will be held on Friday, October 17, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Cherokee Memorial Park.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Temple Baptist Church, 801 S. Lower Sacramento Rd., Lodi.
Visitation will be held at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. for those who are unable to attend services.
Donations may be made in her name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at www.jdrf.org or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International, 120 Wall St., 19th Floor, New York, NY 10005.
