George Nicks Obituary
Formerly of Stony Point - George Thomas Nicks, 33, formerly of Stony Point, NY and of Nashville, TN passed away suddenly on January 27, 2019. He was born on September 10, 1985 in Nyack, NY to George & Joyce Ann (Jordan) Nicks. George graduated from North Rockland High School in 2003, then received his BA from St. Thomas Aquinas College. He worked in finance for Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS) as a Senior Product Manager and Platform Lead. He was a dedicated and valued team leader who was always willing to help his clients and team. George was an avid golfer, bowler and a true culinary enthusiast. He was the Rockland County Bowler of the Year in 2003, when he also represented North Rockland in the State Championships and bowled a 289, which gave him the honor of placing second in New York State for his North Rockland High School team. During the 2000 Stony Point Little League Championship, George threw the closing pitches to clinch the championship for his team, under the guidance of his Dad & Coach. George enjoyed vacationing with his entire family in Manasquan, NJ and spending time with his beloved friends. He is predeceased by his Grandparents Margaret & Thomas Jordan and John Nicks Sr. George is survived by his loving parents George J. & Joyce Ann Nicks of Stony Point, his adored sister Jennifer Nicks (fiancé Orlando Credendino) of Stony Point, his cherished grandmother Lucy Nicks of Stony Point, his beloved aunts & uncles John (Cathy) Nicks, Tom (Terri) Nicks, Nancy Nicks & Stephen (Ann) Jordan. His caring cousins Melissa (Michael) Sobotor, Stacy (Michael) Fitzgerald, John (Theresa) Nicks and Kimberly (Edwin) Perez, Olivia, and Stephen Jordan. George was also the proud owner of a beloved dog named Rocky.
The family will receive friends and relatives at the T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home at 71 N. Central Highway Garnerville, NY on Sat Feb. 2nd from 6 - 9 PM & Sun. Feb. 3rd from 1-5 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for George on Mon. Feb 4th at 10 AM in the Immaculate Conception Church in Stony Point with Interment to follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in Haverstraw.

George worked directly for me for a few years at UBS. He was an amazing employee and friend - highly driven, successful, motivated, talented...there are no words.
