JOHN ROFRANO Obituary

87, formerly of Hillside Avenue, Niskayuna, died Sunday at the Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Scotia, NY after a short illness. Born in New York City, Mr. Rofrano lived most of his life in Yonkers, NY, moving to Niskayuno in 1988. Mr. Rofrano worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for many years retiring in 1976. He was a recipient of numerous awards of recognition for outstanding sales and service. Mr. Rofrano was active in the Republican Party serving as the ward leader in the 8th ward in Yonkers, NY. He also was a member of the Mount Carmel Catholic Club and the Yonkers Lions Club. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Antoinette DeRosa Rofrano, a son John J. Rofrano Jr, and his wife Theresa of Mahopac, three daughters, Gail A. Kelleher and husband Brian of Niskayuna; Frances J. Rofrano of Beacon; Jane M. Ercolani and husband Vincent of Pine Bush; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Survived by one brother Fr. Peter J. Rofrano of NYC and two sisters Angelina Mazzoni and Mary Fitzgerald both of NYC. Funeral service Tuesday morning 10 o'clock from the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan St, Schenectady. Services will be held at 10:30 Tuesday at Our Lady of Fatima Church where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be from 4pm until 8pm Monday at the Daly Funeral Home, 242 McClellan Street, Schenectady, NY. Burial will be in The Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 260 Osborne Rd Loudonville, NY 12211 or Community Hospice of Schenectady 1411 Union St. Schenectady, NY 12308.
