JULIUS GEMBOROWSKI Obituary

Julius "Gish" Gemborowski, a lifelong Yonkers resident, passed away suddenly, on Sunday, March 18, 2007 at the age of 85. Julius was born April 21, 1921 to Stephen and Mary Zbylut. He graduated from P.S. 20, Franklin Junior High School and Saunders Trade and Technical High School. He served in WWII from 1942-1945 as a weather observer in the 8th Air Force. Julius then graduated from Smith Management School and was a supervisor at Alexander Smith Carpet Shop for over 10 years. He married Pauline Maggiola on October 10, 1953 at Sacred Heart Monastery Church. Julius also worked for Otis Elevator as an industrial engineer for over 30 years. Julius was a charter member of the Polish C.A.A. and a member of Lake Isle Club. He was also an avid golfer and title -holder bowler, (playing as "Al Gish."�), in the old YBA league. Beloved husband of Pauline Gemborowski. Devoted father of Deborah Gemborowski. Dear brother of Helen Oliva and Stella Oliver. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 21, at 107 Yonkers Ave. (Yonkers Funeral Home) from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated Thursday, March 22, at Sacred Heart Church at 10:45a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
