Matthew Gilson

Suffern - Matthew J. Gilson, 93, of Suffern, New York died on July 2, 2020. Matthew was born on December 12, 1926 to Matthew and Marie (Santinelli) Gilson in New York City.

Matthew is survived by his wife, Anne, daughter Andrea (Charles) Edwards, and sons Matthew (Sandra) Gilson and Joseph (Patricia) Gilson and sister Hadie (Bruce) Erhardt as well as his grandchildren, Michael (Lauren) Milovich, Anna Milovich, Matthew Gilson, Edward (Oxa) Gilson, Scott Gilson, Joseph (KC) Gilson, Christopher (Karlee) Gilson and Kevin Gilson.

Matthew is pre-deceased by his brothers Leo, Joseph and Charles Gilson.

Matthew was a roofer by trade, learning the craft with his father and brother on the roofs of New York City. After serving in the Merchant Marines and U.S. Navy, Matthew became a Police Officer for the City of New York for twenty years, followed by a career as a Property Manager for Alexander Summer Company of New Jersey.

Matthew enjoyed boating, camping and fishing, but most of all he loved his home on Lake George where he spent many wonderful times with his family.

A private memorial service and burial will be held in Queensbury, New York.
