MILDRED BEECE Obituary

A resident of Hastings-on-Hudson for over 40 years, Mildred Beece passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2004. The cause of death was cancer. Born Mildred Ball in Pittsburgh in 1927, Millie grew up in Bethlehem, PA and attended Cornell University. There she met her future husband, Patrick Beece. By the early 1960's they were living in Hastings and raising a family. While Pat pursued a successful career in advertising, Millie was very active in local politics and other causes. After Pat died in 1980, Millie continued her political work as well as numerous artistic passions. She also held several accounting positions and was intimately involved in raising her seven grandchildren. She is survived by her brother Ethan of Philadelphia, her son Daniel of Brewster, daughters Deborah and Donna and son Yung all of Hastings. As well as her grandchildren Alex, Adam, Aric and Allison Beece and Elizabeth, Sarah and Patrick May. Friends may call at the Hastings Funeral Home, 15 Spring Street on Friday from 7-9 PM.
