Thomas O'Hagan Obituary
Lt. Thomas G. O'Hagan, FDNY 43 of Riverdale, Bronx, NY lost his life on September 11, 2001 at the World Trade Center Disaster. Loving husband of Andrea and devoted father of twin twenty month old boys, Patrick and Pierce. Cherished son of Francis P. and the late Helen T. O'Hagan. He is survived by a large and loving family of brothers, sisters, and in laws; Nancy and Gerald Moran, Barbara and Francis P. O'Hagan Jr., Jeanne and Michael McCabe, Mary-Ellen and Raymond O'Hagan, Mary-Ellen and Robert Malone, Kathleen and Frank Gaetano, Patricia and John O'Hagan, Clare and Kenneth Mayer, Bernadette and Thomas Hart , and Joseph O'Hagan. Fond son in law of Joan and Andy Ricciardella, and their family Kathleen and James Corbett, Joan and Kevin Callan, and Michael Ricciardella. Loving uncle of thirty nine nieces, nephews and godfather of three. Tom was a graduate of St. Nicholas of Tolentine H.S., Bronx, NY in 1976, received an Associates Degree from SUNY-Farmingdale in 1978 and joined the New York City Fire Department on July 12, 1981. He had a distinguished 20 year career and was a former member of Engine #95, Inwood; Engine #58 (Fire Factory), Harlem; Engine #79, Briggs Avenue, Bronx; and Engine #52, Riverdale, Bronx before being promoted to lieutenant in October 2000. He worked in Division 1 , Battalion 4 before receiving his permanent assignment as Lt. of Engine #6, Bleeker Street, two weeks prior to that fateful morning. Tom was a true brother, not only to his siblings but, to his colleagues, friends, and anyone in need. He will be remembered for his heart warming laughter , his ability to tell a joke, and his uplifting spirit. His smile could light up a room. His loyalty, dedication, and generosity will never be forgotton. He lived for his beautiful wife and adorable twin boys. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew him. A Memorial Mass will be held on Octobter 14, 2001 at 2PM at St. Margaret of Cortona R.C. Church, 6000 Riverdale Ave, Bronx NY.
