Victor T. Zarnock, 74, of Pearl River, NY died Thursday, May 28, 2015, peacefully of natural causes at his home. Victor was born November 06, 1940 in Manhattan, NY to Victor T. Zarnock Sr. and Mary (Kurilchik) Zarnock. He spent his early childhood on small family farms in SW Massachusetts and his teenage years in the Lower East Side, Manhattan. After high school, he worked briefly in metal parts fabrication before joining the NYC Fire Department in Spring 1961. On October 21, 1961 he married Lucille (Selvik) Zarnock of Brooklyn, NY. In 1969 they moved to Pearl River. Victor served 28 years in the FDNY, receiving numerous commendations for rescues, before retiring in October 1989. In retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and friends, vacationing in the US and Europe, and going up to his Adirondack property. He was an avid nature lover, hunter, fisherman and camping enthusiast, all pursuits which were instilled in him from his rural upbringing. He was a proud life member of the NRA and an official measurer of the New York State Big Buck Club. He also collected antique bottles, amassing a unique collection of Americana spanning 200 years. He will be especially missed for his entertaining stories and unique personality.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Lucille in Aug, 2013. He is survived by his son Thomas (Lori) Zarnock of Oakton, VA, daughter Dawn (Brian) Peterson of Monroe, NY, grandchildren Lauren Zarnock, Tristan and Tabitha Peterson, and his sister Liz (Ken) Ingram of White Hall, PA.
