Steven Thompson

October 16, 1959 - January 6, 2025

Steven Michael Thompson, formally of Lompoc, passed away after a short but courageous battle with cancer on Jan 6, 2025, in Mennagio, Italy. His wife of 9 months, Paola Tagliabue was by his side when he passed. Steve was born on October 16th, 1959 in Los Angeles. He attended Cabrillo High School and graduated in 1977. After graduation, Steve joined the Army and spent 3 years as a tracked vehicle mechanic in Illisheim, Germany. After the Army, Steve became a journeyman electrician and worked for Trojan Electric in Lompoc for several years before taking various jobs across the country. Steve ended up in Las Vegas and worked several years for the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System in the Utilities Department until his retirement in October of last year. Steve was an avid surfer and spent countless hours on the California beaches.

Steve was preceded in death by his mother June L. Dildine, Father Jack Thompson, stepfather Bill Dildine, sister Jennifer Leigh Dildine, and grandmother Dorothy Zupancic of Coalinga. He is survived by his brother Clay Thompson of Swansboro, North Carolina and his wife Paola Tagliabue of Mennagio, Italy.

Steve chose cremation and his ashes were spread over Lake Como in Italy.
