For many years, Mrs. Axon was a teacher at elementary schools in Chelmsford and Sutton.
She was a member of the Chelmsford Central Congregational Church, where she was active in the Women's Fellowship.
She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Beverly and Andrew Anderson of Westford. Mrs. Axon also leaves a daughter-in-law, Barbara Axon of Oak Island, N.C., the widow of Mrs. Axon's son, the late Gordon Axon; and five grandchildren, Allen and his wife Amy Axon, Daniel Axon, John and his wife Tori Axon, Sarah and her husband John Fox, and Andrew and his wife Linda Anderson Jr.
