He was the beloved husband of Mary (Marshall) Flanders, to whom he was married for 58 years.
He was born in Lowell, March 31, 1924, son of the late Herbert N. and Helen (Haley) Flanders. He received his education in Lowell schools.
Mr. Flanders served in the Army during World War II. He was awarded the Croix de Guerre and the Purple Heart for injuries sustained during combat.
Before retiring, Mr. Flanders was employed for more than 27 years as a mechanic by the Lowell Gas Co.
In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Harry A. and Noreen Flanders of Dracut; a daughter, Donna Marie Martin of Dracut; two grandchildren, Jessica Anderson and her husband, Glen of Westford, and Harry Holt Flanders of Dracut; a brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Phyllis Flanders of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews.
