Joan Fontaine Obituary

Joan B. Fontaine formerly of Billerica, school bus driver; 70 GROTON Joan B. (Newman) Fontaine, age 70, wife of Robert Fontaine, to whom she had been lovingly married for 50 years, died peacefully Saturday, at their home, surrounded by her family. She was born in Medford, June 9, 1937, and was the devoted daughter of the late John D. and Agnes (Cullen) Newman. She had been a lifelong Billerica resident until moving to Groton. Mrs. Fontaine had been employed as a hairdresser and more recently had been a School Bus driver for Tewksbury Transportation Inc. for 20 years. She had loved crocheting, and spending time with her family and grandchildren, especially at her home in Raymond, Maine on Sebago Lake. Besides her husband, she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Mike R. and Adrienne Fontaine of Westford; one daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Mark Lucey of Westford; one sister, Marianne Ganley of Haverhill; and four grandchildren, Samantha and Michael A. Fontaine and Daniel and Jillian Lucey. FONTAINE Of Groton and Raymond, ME, formerly of Billerica, Oct. 6, Joan B. (Newman) Fontaine, wife of Robert Fontaine. Funeral Wed. from the SWEENEY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica at 8 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Theresa Church, Billerica at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours Tues. from 3 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lowell General Hospital, Cancer Center, 295 Varnum Ave., Lowell, MA 01854. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica. Funeral Directors,W. J. and Dean M. Laurendeau.

So sorry for your loss Bob. Fond memories of Joan as we ived our lives in a happy time being cheerleaders toghter in howe High. Joan was one of the Special Oness. We are saddend to hear of her passing

Dear Bob & Family:

We are so very sorry for your loss. We remember all the good times at Indian Point with you both. Joan was lovely, warm and compassionate with an upbeat and cheerful personality. I will always remember her support when I was undergoing breast cancer treatment 10 years ago. She will be greatly missed, not only by her family, but by her many friends. May God grant you peace during this very difficult time.
