John Regolino Obituary

Decorated WWII Army Veteran

TEWKSBURY: John T. Regolino, Sr., age 97, a longtime resident of Tewksbury, passed away at home on Monday, March 7, 2022.

He was the beloved husband of Anna M. (Ternullo) Regolino, who passed away on August 31, 2016.

Born in Boston on December 13, 1924, he was one of ten children to the late Augustino Regolino and the late Concetta (Picciotto) Regolino.

John was raised in the West End section of Boston and graduated from Brighton High School.

In 1943, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during World War II with the 25th Infantry Division. John was involved in the Philippine Campaign at Luzon, the battle at Saipan, at Tokyo Bay during the Japanese surrender, and at Nagoya, Japan during the Occupation. He was awarded numerous decorations for his active-duty service including the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal, three Purple Hearts with Gold Leaf Cluster, the World War II Victory Medal, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with a Bronze Service Star, and the Bronze Star Medal.

Following his military service, he was employed as Traffic Manager by the Process Engineering Company in Plaistow, NH, where he worked for 42 years until his retirement.

John was a member of the Medford V.F.W. Post.

For 25 years he assisted Tewksbury Youth Sports Programs. John coached the Padres baseball team and was a member of the Booster Club for Tewksbury Youth Hockey.

He enjoyed traveling with his late wife to various destinations including Bermuda and Hawaii and loved eating Italian food.

John is survived by his children, Connie Reppucci and her husband Jack of Burlington, Mary Ann Deshler and her husband Richard of Tewksbury and John T. Regolino, Jr. and his wife Angela, of Tewksbury: four grandchildren, David Reppucci and his wife Jaclyn, Jonathan and Nicole Deshler, and John T. Regolino, III: two great grandchildren, Samuel and Madeline Reppucci: many nieces, nephews and extended family.

John was pre-deceased by six brothers and three sisters.

Calling hours are Sunday, March 13, from 3-7 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. His funeral procession will begin Monday, March 14, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William's Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Mr. Regolino was a a great man. A great inspiration to others. And was part of the Greatest Generation. I always enjoyed talking with him and reminiscing about playing baseball in Tewksbury. Like we called them the good old days.
