Melanie St. Croix Obituary

OGUNQUIT, ME

Melanie C. (Burgess) St. Croix, formerly of Pepperell, passed away on Tuesday, June 15th at home in Ogunquit, ME following her nearly 4 year fight with ALS.

Melanie was born on October 31st 1962 to William and Marilyn (Bowman) Burgess in Somerville, MA. Melanie grew up in various cities and towns in the Lowell area before marrying the love of her life, Alan St. Croix. The two raised a family in Pepperell, MA. She spent her entire career working at the Lowell Five Bank and volunteering for numerous local organizations, most recently the Lowell Association for the Blind. She spent many hours assisting her husband with his businesses, from a bait-and-tackle shop all the way to Pepperell Music Center. She was a graduate of Lowell schools and held an Associate's Degree from Middlesex Community College.

When not working, Melanie traveled well with friends and family to parts near and far, including Aruba, Ireland, and Italy. Melanie's illness forced her into early retirement, which she begrudgingly spent enjoying seaside life in Ogunquit, ME, frequenting beaches and area restaurants. During the summer, she often had a crowded social calendar, entertaining friends and loved ones in her dream home and around her favorite place.

Melanie is survived by her husband of 38 years, Alan, and her sons: Christopher with his wife Ashley Soucy, and Alex with his wife Allyssa Grant, along with her granddaughter, Claire. She is also survived by her mother, Marilyn, her brothers, William and Timothy, as well as nieces and nephews. Melanie is predeceased by her father, William.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., CHELMSFORD. Memorial donations may be made in Melanie's name to the Northern New England Chapter of the ALS Association, P.O. Box 207, Concord, NH 03301. Funeral Director Paul A. I can´t believe it´s been two years. I´ll always remember how nice, accepting, and welcoming Melanie was; she made me feel like she counted me as a friend immediately, which meant a lot to me. I hope her family are all doing well and moving forward living their best lives, as she would´ve wanted.
