Scott Clegg Obituary

Scott W. Clegg
Loving husband, brother,

uncle and friend

Scott W. Clegg, 55 years of age, a resident of Lawrence, MA, passed away unexpectedly on May 30, 2018 at Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence. Scott was the beloved husband of Ann M. (Lewis) Clegg of Lawrence, with whom he would have celebrated their 25th anniversary this September.

Born June 27, 1962, he was raised in Lowell, MA, a son of Mercedes (Leighton) Clegg of Lowell and the late Robert Clegg. He graduated from Greater Lowell Regional Vocational High School with the Class of 1981.

Scott and Ann were soulmates from the start and married on a picture-perfect day September 25, 1993 and began their lives together in the Tower Hill section of Lawrence.

He worked in the trucking industry his whole life. Scott was most recently employed at Packaging Partners in Lawrence, as a truck driver.

Scott especially enjoyed travel, Sunday rides to the farm and beach and attending antique car shows. He was especially fond of Italian food and enjoyed visiting his favorite restaurant, Kitty's in North Reading. Also a lover of classical and Big Band music, he attended many Symphony concerts and played the drums in his younger years. A talented handyman, he was always willing to help family and friends with household projects and was most proud of the many property renovations he had accomplished. Scott also was an ardent supporter of all veterans' causes.

A hard-working, loyal, dedicated husband and family man, Scott will be missed beyond words. He was a once-in-a-lifetime friend to all who knew him and would always lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Although a light has dimmed on this earth with his passing, a star clearly shines in heaven.

Scott also had a dedicated group of "forever friends" including his best friend Douglas Dukeshire and his wife Sandra Dukeshire of Andover, MA.

In addition to his wife, Scott is survived by brother Thomas Clegg and his girlfriend Chom Suk Bracey of Lowell, his sister Sharon Hatch of Lowell, mother-in-law Mary E. Lewis of Lowell, sister-in-law Mary E. Posey and her husband William of Lowell, sister-in-law Kathy Caisse and her husband John of Connecticut, sister-in-law Maureen Demoulas and her husband Arthur of Lowell, sister-in-law Patricia Winalski of Lowell, brother-in-law Gerard Lewis and his wife Caren of Rindge, NH and brother-in-law William Lewis and his wife Louise of Raymond, NH. Scott is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Scott was predeceased by his father-in-law William D. Lewis and his brother-in-law, Stephen J. Gilbride, both of Lowell.

The family would like to thank the entire medical staff of Lawrence General Hospital for their utmost professionalism and heartfelt compassion.
