Anthony W. Simola, 82, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2022 at 10:57 a.m. in his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2022, at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, 606 S. Woodland Ave., Michigan City, Indiana. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church Legacy Center. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, Indiana, is handling arrangements.
He was born March 12, 1940, in Irwin, Pennsylvania, to the late Anthony and Jane (Milbrada) Simola. On Dec. 31, 1967, in Michigan City, Indiana, he married Christina Potempa, who survives in La Porte, Indiana.
Also surviving are two daughters, Debbie (Ryan) Taylor of Knox, Indiana, and Beth Simola of La Porte, Indiana; three grandsons, Jordan (Brandi) Simola and Tyler (Meagan) Simola-Wallingford and Eric (Leonora) Taylor; brother, Edward (Elaine) Simola of Chicago, Illinois; and his beloved pet, Munchkin.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Fedyna; and brother, David Simola.
Anthony retired as a supervisor at Bethlehem Steel. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Gail and I are so saddened by the news of Tony's passing. Tony was more like a brother to me rather than a friend. We spent many hours together on the football field and as roommates.
Our friendship has been very dear to me.
