Barbara A. Jones, 89, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Friday, Aug. 22, 2025, at 12:01 p.m. in her home.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana. Entombment will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Michigan City, Indiana. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel.
She was born Jan. 9, 1936, in La Porte, Indiana, to the late Albert and Irma (Buckingham) Kashmer. On Jan. 14, 1956, in La Porte, Indiana, she married Jerry Jones, who preceded her on Aug. 10, 2020.
Surviving are four daughters, Jeri Ann (Eldon) Juby of Michigan City, Indiana, Pam (Rick) Voss of Michigan City, Indiana, Judy (Bill) Steiner of Portage, Indiana, and Jennifer (Daniel) Buckner of Bell Buckle, Tennessee; 11 grandchildren, Amanda Juby, Claire (Nick) Juby Krause, Ryan (Lana) Voss, Scott (Christy) Voss, Corey Voss, Katy (Brian) Shea, Kelsey (Ben) Steiner, Abby (Greg) Dandurand, Allison (Harley) Rowell, Jerrod Buckner and Max Buckner; 12 great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Kramer, Leo Kramer, Clark Voss, Simon Voss, Felix Voss, Jamin Jordan, Jerry Shea, Ellie Shea, Zuri Steiner-Walker, Zoe Steiner-Walker, Myla Rowell and Reese Rowell; and daughter-in-law, Kathy Jones of Bull Shoals, Arkansas.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Mark Jones; grandson, Christopher Juby; and two brothers, Paul Kashmer and Robert Kashmer.
Barbara retired after 30 years as a paraprofessional for the Michigan City Area Schools. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Michigan City, Indiana, Michigan City Senior Center, Delta Wives and a volunteer at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital Gift Shop.
Barbara enjoyed playing cards and reading. She loved the Lord and had great faith having passed away with a smile on her face.
