Karole A. Myres, 86, of La Porte, passed away peacefully at 12:31 a.m., Friday, Oct. 20, 2023, at Settlers Place in La Porte.
She was born in North Judson, Indiana, on Sept. 16, 1937, to Karl and Margaret (Hemmueller) Wernle.
On June 25, 1955, Karole married Thomas Myres, who preceded her in death.
She worked as a real estate agent in the area for many years. Karole served on the board for the La Porte County Realtors Deserving Children Charity and was a volunteer for Franciscan Hospital gift shop in Michigan City. She also enjoyed traveling and visiting family. Karole will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her children, Susan Hansen, Steven (Laura) Myres, Timothy Myres, Laura (David) Purkal, Sandra (Alan) Gudrian and Jeffrey Myres; sister, Dorothy Ensign; grandchildren, Mathew Stimley, Brian Thomas, Thomas Myres, Elizabeth Myres, Broderick Myres, Corynn Myres, Dustin Purkal, Brandon Purkal, Chelsea Purkal, Aaron Gudrian, Emma Gudrian, Hailey Gudrian, Brayden Myres and Gavin Myres; and five great-grandchildren.
Karole was also preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Margaret Ciszek.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, 800-950 A St., La Porte. Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, 247 W.
