Kathy Lynn Hay (Tieman) of La Porte passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Nov. 16 at the age of 78.
She was born Feb. 13, 1945, in La Porte to Kenneth Henry Tieman and Lois Magdelena Tieman (Janhke).
Kathy attended La Porte High School and married Ernest Edward Hay on Dec. 29, 1967, and they spent their lives raising a family and enjoying their grandkids in La Porte.
Kathy was an avid bowler and enjoyed that for most all her adult life; she was on several leagues throughout the years and always had so much fun. She loved knitting, baking, cross-stitching, tending to her flowers, schnauzers and crocheting. She lovingly made so many items for her kids and grandkids throughout the years. Her favorite gift to make and give were her crocheted dish cloths.
Kathy loved her faith and was a devout Lutheran, who kept her faith strong until she was called home. Her first grandchild gave her the nickname "GG" and that stuck to the point even her own children called her GG. Family was her most important focus, making sure everyone was together for all holidays. She was a fantastic cook who loved to make a meal for anyone who visited.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Ernie Hay; her brother, Lee Tieman (Nancy) of Palm Harbor, Florida; daughter, Michelle Casto (Hay) of La Porte; daughter, Kari Hay-Alexander of Kansas City; son, Michael Hay (Jamie) of La Porte; her beloved grandchildren, Austin Casto, Abby Casto, Logan Hay, Keli Hay, Addison Alexander, Audrey Alexander, Paige Swanson (Corey Torres) and Skyler Luna (Antonio Martinez); and four great-grandkids, Summer Swanson, Liam Luna, Sofia Luna and Isabella Luna. So many beloved brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and even a few great-great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Lorel Kay Rameier (Tieman); her brother-in-law, Rodger Rameier; and her son-in-law, Scott Charles Alexander.
Cremation will take place. Sunset Funeral Home, Evansville, is caring for the arrangements. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Sorry for your loss. Also sorry I didn´t know her. Dan and I were friends of yours in High School. Bonnie passed away last year, too. Dan is recovering from a number of issues in Tucson.
Hope you are able be at peace.
