Kenneth Brooks, age 82, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022.
Kenneth was born on Feb. 5, 1939, in Michigan City to Maurice Cedric and Edna (Wagner) Brooks, who preceded him in death.
Kenneth married his loving wife, Sharon (Wienke) Brooks, on June 22, 1957, at the Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Michigan City, Indiana.
Kenneth is survived by his children, Barbara (Durwyn) Wild, Alan Brooks and Mary Morales; grandchildren, Benjamin Brooks and Michael and Kenny Morales; step-grandchildren, Kelwyn (Kristen), Glyn, Katryn (Mark) Samuels, and Gavyn and Nolyn Wild; great-grandson, Joshua Morales; brothers, Richard (Sue) Brooks and Phillip (June) Brooks; and sister, Barbara Hart.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Maurice Jr., Robert and Daniel Brooks; and sisters, Mary Jane Eisenhour and Lucille Herold.
Kenneth volunteered his time at the Salvation Army Pantry. He loved wood-working and watching football. Kenneth was a graduate from Elston High School, class of 1957, and was a proud "Red Devil." He retired from National Steel from the Midwest Plant. Kenneth was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who loved everyone in his family.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Lakota Indians, or The Michigan City Service League.
Family and friends are invited to join the family for a visitation on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Geisen-Carlisle Funeral Home, 613 Washington Street, Michigan City, IN, 46360. There will be an additional visitation on Friday, Jan. 7, 2022, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
