She was born Nov. 7, 1937, in Michigan City to Bennie and Anna-Belle (Yanke) Krumkowski.
Marlene loved music, dancing, going out to lunch, making Christmas cookies and cooking for everyone. Many young people called her mom. She opened her home to them, provided a safe haven for them and Marlene always had a meal on the table. Most of all she loved being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She thought of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends as special blessings and she was very thankful for each one of them. Marlene loved everyone unconditionally. She will be dearly missed by many.

Also preceding in death were her parents; grandparents, Alvin and Ruth Yanke; one sister, Ruth Waldo; daughter-in-law, Theresa Robinett; grandson, Joshua Heuer; one niece, Brenda Waldo; and her special friend, Cary Baker.
Surviving are her three daughters, Becky (Jason) Brown of La Porte, and Lori (Randy) Alexander and Julie Robinett, both of Michigan City; two sons, Jeffrey Robinett of Michigan City and Rod (Brenda) Miller of Fort Smith, Arkansas; one granddaughter, Kristen (Pat) Fuller; four grandsons, Jeffrey (Tanya) Heuer, Brandon Heuer, Richard (Kaila) Brown and Jeffrey Robinett; and 10 great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Chase, Caleb, Peyton, Gavin, Gracie, Paisley, Kyleigh, Melanie and Benjamin. Marlene also leaves behind many friends, Jeane Church, Kim Fontana, Sandy Stine, Mary Mitchell, Patty Spielvogel, her group of friends at McDonalds, Pastor Jack Andrews, Ray Staples, Linda McCarthy, Jim McCormick, Dennis Peters and Becky Brown. She also had many young friends that were like family to her, Ross Swain, Brian McClusky, Tim Westphal, Chuck Russell, Shawn Lee, Jamika Lee, Kaleb Lee, Kehlani Lee, Tom Drubert, Angie Carroll, Ally Maroney and Angel Ladd.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the VNA Hospice nurses and social workers for their care and support.

My closest Aunt & my momma's only sister. I will be cooking those beautiful Krumkowski girls recipes for years to come! Feeling incredibly blessed to have had her for many, many years.
My energizer bunny that fought for years on hospice. Probably THE most active patient ever in the wonderful program. She is surely visiting with loved ones & cleaning heaven right now!
I will miss our hours long late night talks. We solved all of the worlds problems many times together. I'll always remember some special things you shared with me in confidence & vise versa.
I'll miss our lunches, stories & so many laughs.
I'm thankful you & my Uncle Larry took my sister, Brenda, under their wing & tight into our/their family. Brenda needed a mom's love for much longer than we had ours. Thanks for making Brenda feel special & appreciating the woman I become.
You were & always will be such a special part of our family & will forever be missed. Rest in peace Aunt Marlene. Thank you for all the special love you shared so naturally to me and your huge circle of children, family & friends!
All My Love,
Tina Kowalski
