Mary Stein Obituary
Mary Stein (Wortsman), age 70, of Portage, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024, in Valparaiso, Indiana. She was born on June 24, 1953, in Budapest, Hungary, to Laszlo and Rozalia (Szenyan) Becsi.
Mary is survived by her husband, Michael Stein; daughter, Julie (Todd) Pfligenstofer; and brother, Joe (Patti) Szabo.
She was preceded in death by her father, Laszlo Becsi; and mother, Rozalia Becsi.
Mary loved to travel and share her fond memories of places she had been to with her friends. She loved to host weekly parties for friends and family, where she would make everyone laugh with her jokes. Mary was very emotional and passionate in her beliefs. She was charitable to many organizations, especially animal causes. Mary will be remembered by her bright spirit and unwavering love for those closest to her.
Funeral arrangements entrusted by Edmonds & Evan Funeral Home. The family will announce a celebration of life at a later date.
