Mary Ungerank Obituary
Mary Helen Ungerank, 81, of La Porte passed away unexpectedly at her home in La Porte on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the Root Funeral Home. Viewing will be held on Saturday from 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Mary Helen was born Oct. 2, 1940, in Gadston, Tennessee, to the late Richard T. and Mary Odell (Kurkendal) Robbins.
On July 8, 1957, in Michigan City she married Ernest S. Ungerank, who passed away on Jan. 23, 2014.
Surviving are five children, Sheila Albertson, Michael Ungerank, Candy (Ron) McCarty, Tricia (John) Jones and Randall Ungerank; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Danny Robbins; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
Mary Helen was a retired machine operator from Sprague Devices.
She was a past officer and a member of the D.A.V. Auxiliary. She was a loving mom and grandmother who was a very generous person who would do anything to help anybody out. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
