Mary Ann Worek, 91, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024, at 10 a.m. in Silver Birch Assisted Living in Michigan City, Indiana.
Mass of Christian Burial for both Mary Ann and Stan will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, 2024, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 1506 Washington Street, Michigan City, Indiana, with Rev. Walter Ciesla officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the church. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, Indiana, is handling arrangements.
She was born May 31, 1933, in Glassport, Pennsylvania, to William and Wilma Stasko, who preceded her in death. Mary Ann is also preceded in death by her husband, Stan. They were married in Glassport, Pennsylvania, on Feb. 2, 1952.
Also preceded in death are two brothers, Don and Al; two sisters, Velma and Dorothy; daughters-in-law, Sue and Allison; and son-in-law, Joe Pender.
Surviving are her six children, Rob (Gwen) Worek, Dave Worek, John (Jeanette) Worek, Kathy Pender, Bill (Jamie) Worek and Amy (Phil) Chartier; 25 grandchildren (one grandson, Todd, deceased), 28 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Mary Ann was a homemaker and later decided to work as a bank teller. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church where she sang in the choir. Mary Ann loved to play bingo and was a pretty good joke teller.
Mary Ann and Stan enjoyed 26 years of retirement in Las Vegas, NV. She spent her last five years at Silver Birch Assisted Living where she made numerous friends and was taken care of by the loving staff.
