Rita Furr Kohn, 76, of Albemarle, North Carolina, passed away on Nov. 9, 2024.
Rita was born Dec. 19, 1947. She is survived by her husband, James "Jim" Kohn; her son, Reid Kohn and his wife Melissa Brown of Charlotte, North Carolina; grandchildren, Jordan Faulkner (Hope) of Monroe, North Carolina, and Walker Faulkner of Salisbury, North Carolina; great-grandchildren, Gunner, Shayleah and Makyla; and brothers-in-law, Rudy (Betsy) and Dan (Robin) Kohn. She is predeceased by her daughter, Wendy Kohn; and a granddaughter, Marissa Faulkner.
Rita retired from Mansfield Dentistry as a dental assistant, and she also worked as a substitute teacher. She loved baking pies, and was an avid reader who especially loved reading Jan Karon's Mitford series. She was also a die-hard fan of the Carolina Panthers and Chicago Cubs. Rita was a daughter of a very close family and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Tillery Compassionate Care in Albemarle.
