Robert W. Gardner, 95, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021, at 10:53 a.m. in Northwest Health-La Porte.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021, at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana, with Pastor William Fine officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.
He was born March 16, 1926, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, to the late Lehman and Ida (Schafer) Gardner. On Oct. 28, 1950, in Michigan City, Indiana, he married Betty Schwark, who survives in Michigan City.
Also surviving are a son, Barry Gardner of Michigan City, Indiana.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Ernest Gardner.
Robert retired as a glazier with Local Union 1165 and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of American Legion John Franklin Miller Post 37 and the VFW 2536. Robert enjoyed golfing and yard work.
