Therese Kaye Young, 81, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away on March 25, 2024, at Brickyard Health-La Porte Care Center.
Therese was born in Moline, Illinois, on Oct. 10, 1942, to Arthur and Isabel (Chapman) Folk.
Surviving are her two daughters, Jennifer (Ronald) Downs of La Porte and Anita (Ken) Rosentreter of Mill Creek; grandchildren, Wade Downs, Layden Scheidel, Ken Rosentreter, Bradly Rosentreter and Niya Miller; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Frances (Donald) Estep of La Porte and Mary (David) Medich of Granger; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, William Harold Miller; and roommate, Gabriel Camarillo.
In 1961, Therese graduated from New Carlisle High School. She then attended the University of Washington in Seattle. Therese sold Avon and worked at Teledyne and the Lighthouse Place. She loved to sell Avon and socialize at the local bar.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
A time of visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Cremation will take place following the service.
Memorial donations may be made to the family c/o Jennifer Downs, 2900 Monroe Street, La Porte, IN 46350, or to the donor's choice.
