My memory of Charlie is that he was well-educated, interested in and knowledgable about military history, and very adept at reading or deciphering nineteenth-century handwriting. The world is diminished by his loss, but many people are better because they encountered him in life.

Charlie once explained to me what it meant to "show willin'" from his days at Motor Wheel--doing the job that needed to be done--no matter how difficult. He then paid me the complement of saying that I "showed willin.'" I do my best to instill the value of hard work in my own kids (and anyone that will listen) in his honor.

So sorry for your loss. My condolences to Sharon and the Cusack family. I have a picture of Charlie, with the rest of the 1962 Hubbardston little league team, on the wall in my den. Had a lot of good times growing up with Charlie.
