Annabell Cluff Obituary

Lubbock- Annabell Lines Cluff, 94 of Lubbock, Texas went to be with her Lord on Monday, February 19, 2018 in Lubbock, Texas.

Annabell was born Tuesday, July 10, 1923 in Bennington, Oklahoma. She moved with her family to Anthony, NM when she was 5 months old and grew up in the community. Annabell graduated from Valley High School at Anthony. She attended New Mexico State Teachers College at Silver City, NM where she married Harrald Lines on October 3, 1941, just two months prior to Pearl Harbor on December 7. Harrald spent the next 4 years in the US Navy. Their son, John Edsward Lines, was born in May of 1944 in El Paso, Tx. Harrald preceded her in death in November of 2003 in Lubbock, TX. Annabell began a career in the Civil Service with US Corps of Engineers during the war and at Biggs Field Constructing buildings and then transferred to Flagstaff, AZ. She did not work while John was a baby, but returned to work with the US Department of Justice, which included the U.S. Immigration & Naturalization Service, the FBI and the Federal Bureau of Prisons at La Tuna, Texas. She retired after serving 27 years. Annabell married Lorel Cluff in September, 2005. She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and active in the church. Annabell loved all of her family and extended family dearly.

Annabell is survived by her husband, Lorel Cluff, Lubbock, TX; her son, John Lines and wife Donnetta of Slaton, TX, Grandchildren, Topsy Alford, Jenny Alford and Cody (Teresa) Alford. Lorel's children; Lorel Eugene Cluff, Anna (Johnnie) Couch, Lakehills, TX, Kenneth Cluff, Grand Prairie, TX, Christie (Dan) Clubb, Squires, MO, Scott (Judy) Cluff, Lake Zurich, IL, Jeffery (Nicole) Cluff, Lubbock, TX, Kim (Mike) Onines, Stockton, CA, and Darlene Cluff, Charlotte NC, Carol Hampton, San Angelo, TX, Larry Friedman, Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Annabell was preceded in death by her husband Harrald Lines, a sister, Flora Love, and a step son, William "Bill" Friedman.

A Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 7016 Frankford Avenue Lubbock, Texas 79424 with Darrick G. Wade officiating. Interment will be in Southland Resthaven Cemetery, Southland, TX.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Englunds, 1400 Woodrow Road, Slaton, Texas.
