Audis Dowell Obituary

Audis L. Dowell Audis L. Dowell, 70, of Ransom Canyon went to be with Jesus on July 21st after a sudden illness. His family was at his side. Audis was born March 9, 1941, in Hobbs, N.M. He was born to Elton and Marie Dowell. He graduated from Hobbs High School in 1959. He was employed by Home Depot in Lubbock. He was married to Ida Hogan on Dec. 8, 1978, and they formed their own Brady Bunch. Audis was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Jerry Stroud. Audis is survived by his wife, Ida of Ransom Canyon;son, Rodney Dowell and wife Char of Van Vleck; daughter, Rhonda Sibley and husband Scott of Oakland, Calif.; daughters, Audra Dowell of Santa Fe, N.M., Kerri Hester of McKinney, Becky Sharp and husband Ivan of Lubbock, and Trudie Johnson and husband Don of Lubbock; brother, Johnny Dowell and wife Pat of Splendora; sisters, Elta Stroud of Portales, N.M., and Marvel Thomason and husband Buzz of Hobbs, N.M.; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; plus numerous nieces and nephews. The family will visit with friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 24th at Agape Funeral Chapel. Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, July 25th at Bacon Heights Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry Joplin and Dr. Paul Miller officiating.
