ABE SPARBER Abe Sparber, loving patriarch of our family, passed away June 19, 2015, in Las Vegas. Abe was born July 31, 1920, in Barberton, Ohio. He served in the South Pacific in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. After returning home, Abe and Helen lived in Los Angeles for many years where they raised their three daughters. He worked for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power for over 30 years before retiring and relocating to Las Vegas. After moving to Las Vegas, Abe started a new chapter in his life, entertaining. He performed in talent shows doing comedy, singing and dancing and sang in the choir at his synagogue. He is particularly known for teaching line dancing around town. Abe was devoted to his family and always had time to help a friend. He was preceded in death by his lovely wife, of 70 years, Helen. He will be sorely missed by his three daughters and sons-in-law, Susan (Fred), Diane (Tom) and Joanne (Robert); six grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. Service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 25, at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., Las Vegas. Donations may be made in his memory to the Jewish War Vets.
