BOB HOLDING Obituary

BOB HOLDING We lost our sweet, dear Bob Holding, "Bunky," of Las Vegas, Feb. 22, 2014. He passed away suddenly, fighting a short bout with cancer. He was born July 2, 1956, in Bridgeton, N.J. At the age of 20, Bob made the big move to Las Vegas. He started working for Albertson's and was there for eight years. He then had many of his own businesses. In 1982, he settled into a career doing real estate. He worked for several companies and at the time of his death was working for Realty Executives. He had finished his course work for getting his CCIM designation and was waiting to test. Bob lived in Las Vegas for 37 years and, during that time, had been part of many charitable organizations and was a large part of the growth of Las Vegas. He was passionate about his work and never missed an appointment and loved what he did. He was loved by so many and touched people all around him. In 1985, he met the love of his life Leslie and later married her. He was preceded in death by his son, Ian Holding, who passed tragically just 21 months ago. A part of Bob died too, and this reunion must have been some moment. He is survived by his wife Leslie; his mother, Marion (Oliver) Carter; father, Robert Holding; daughters, Tara (Scooch) and Tiffany (Terry) Parrish. The light of his life were his grandchildren, Jacob, Chance, Paige, Ty and Stockton, each could do no wrong. He is also survived by his sisters and brother, Barbara, Bill (Donna) Holding, Bonnie (Harley) Baker and Brenda; many nieces and nephews; and mother-in-law, MarJeanne Laub. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, both at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be private.

This is just so sad to me. I was ask from my parents who were once very close to Bob and Leslie to look them up since they had moved away years ago and lost contact and unfortunately this is what i have found. I met Bob over 10 years ago through his good friend Mark Kornhouser who said Bob was the best real estate agent in Las Vegas and he was right! He helped me buy a house then and he just helped me buy another one a year and a half ago, going above and beyond to assure that I was making the right decision. He was so good to me and so helpful...even in advising me when I asked him about selling my Mom's house in New Orleans! He was smart, kind, helpful, talented and more, and I considered him a friend. I am deeply saddened by this sudden loss of such an amazing man. My sincerest condolences to Leslie, my thoughts and prayers are with you; to Tara and Tiffany, whom I know he was so very proud of and whom he loved beyond words; to his parents in this very difficult time; and to all of his family. Know that he is loved and respected by so many because of the positive and caring way he touched all our lives.

To Bob's family, while my relationship with Bob was of a professional nature, we had many chats and shared lunch on occasion, and I can attest that Bob was a gentleman in the truest sense of the word, handling even challenging transactions and clients with grace and humor. It was obvious to me what a dedicated family man he was and he was genuinely concerned with doing right by his grandchildren after the loss of their father. I am shocked and saddened by the news of his passing, and May His Memory Be Eternal.
