Cheralyn Reardon Obituary

CHERALYN REARDON Cheralyn Annette Reardon, 40, a caretaker, of North Las Vegas, passed away Jan. 9, 2012. She was born Dec. 8, 1971 in Canoga Park, Calif. and was a 15-year resident of Nevada. She was a beautiful soul and Angel to all. Cheralyn's compassionate nature was unmatched, as she was gifted with a deep understanding of those in need. She sought out those who needed help, needed to smile, needed uplifting. The needs of others always came first for Cheralyn. Her light brought so much happiness, touched so many lives, that the world feels vacant without her. Cheralyn lived her life to the fullest, and was the first to jump in, laugh and help. She healed deep wounds and brought peace to those who were hurting. Words are just too small to explain the impact of her life, and we will miss her beyond explanation. She was preceded in death by her mother; father; brother; and loving grandparents. She is survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews; her aunts; and her loving husband, Austin, whose unyielding passion for his wife continues and will endure. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, at Mount Sinai Memorial Park, Burbank, Calif. See family Facebook page for details. Donations may be made to your local senior centers in her name as Cheralyn was a huge advocate of seniors and their care.

Cheralyn I never got the chance to meet you but I can only imagine the type of person you were here on earth. I went to Jr high with your husband many years ago. And I know anyone Austin would have picked to make his wife had to be special. Your work here on earth is done and God needed you in heaven. Look over Austin and just know some day you will be reunited.

Though I never met Cheralyn, I know that she must have been an angel on earth because she married one. I will never forget how you took care of me in Munich and were a loyal friend, even when I was a pill. Cheralyn was blessed to have such a wonderful life partner, and her short time on the earth was lived richly. We can ask for no greater gift than to be loved and to be surrounded by people deserving of our love. That is what life is about and you and Cheralyn obviously had it--still have it--in abundance. The love you shared will always comfort you in the tough times ahead and be a source of strength and guidance in your life as you continue on your journey. Have faith that that journey will lead you back to your Beloved Cheri. Be strong and stay sweet.

Austin, by the time you met Cheralyn, I had valued your friendship for years. We supported each other through our single years in D.C., and eventually caravanned ourselves to our new adventures out West - yours in Nevada, mine in New Mexico. Fortunately for me, friendship knows no distance, and, if memory serves, the first time I met Cheralyn was at your wedding. I immediately came to the conclusion that she was the sweetest person I'd ever met. And I mean that. I was so happy for you that you had found your soul mate. I had never seen anything more obvious.

Then, on my next visit to Las Vegas, we ended up at the Hofbrauhaus and I realized how much fun she was and how infectious her smile was to everyone around her. At your house, I got to witness her love for Grandpa too. She truly was an amazing woman.

I am so deeply saddened by her passing and my heart goes out to you and your family and friends. And I am so sorry that we have lived so far apart all these years and we couldn't have spent more time with you both. Paul, the girls, and I are thinking of you and praying for you all.

My heart is broken at the loss of my best friend forver. She was the person I went to for support, comfort, love, and laughter. The last time I spoke to her she reminded me I was one of her best friends, that she loved me, and that she considered me a sister to her. This was not at all out of the ordinary for her as she was always full of compassion and love willing to share her feelings about how she felt. The last words she sent me was "thanks." It wasn't a big philosophical conversation we were having but I am grateful that I knew she loved me. I already believe she has visited me to comfort and console me and something random happened while I was at Church praying and asking why God took her away from all of us. I believe she sent me a sign because she knows I am hurting. It made me laugh, because even though I am very upset, her sweet, silly personality came through at that moment and I knew she was sitting with me comforting me like she had when she was alive. The Holy Spirit sent her to me over five years ago, and gave me a wonderful best friend who was always there for me when I needed her. I will miss her laugh, her silly jokes and sayings and most of all I will miss knowing that she loved me with all her heart. Austin and Cheralyn have always been in a relationship I have looked up to as being soulmates, a relationship where two people loved each other unconditionally. She was always telling me how much she loved Austin, and that she knew how much he loves her. My heart is broken for him as well...more so for him than for me, of course. Never doubt how much she loved and appreciated everything you are for her. I feel moved to tell you that, or remind you rather, as I feel she would want me to say that to you, Austin. She was always telling me how blessed she was to have you in her life. I feel like she wants me to repeat that. I do not have to tell any of her family how blessed they were to have her in their lives, as they already know that fact. My prayers and my heart go out to you because I know just how special of a person you have lost. But, at the same time, I know that she is never far away, and she would want us to celebrate her life and not be burdened by our sadness and grief. Her spirit may have changed forms, but she will always be with you. I love you Cheralyn. Thank you for allowing me to call you best friend.

My Aunt Cheralyn and i had the most amazing memories i can remember she always knew when i needed a pick me up so we would go out get lunch then go to some random stores and laugh at basically everything...our most recent time out we found this putty that when you messed with it it would make a a "farting" noise and she would run around with it and make this goofy face and this crazy voice that when i think about it now i smile and begin to laugh i love that when you think about her and all the time we all spent with her you cant help but smile.
