Dee Bellson Obituary

DEE BELLSON Dee Luis Bellson, 92, of Las Vegas, died Nov. 8, 2008, at Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas. She was born Diletta on Dec. 19, 1915, in Rock Falls, Ill., to Louis and Maria Balassone. She is survived by sisters, Josephine (Philip) Payne of Kewanee, Ill., and Mary Selhost of Rock Island, Ill.; brothers, Louis (Francine) of Valencia, Calif., Tony of Youngsville, N.C., and Henry of Encino, Calif.; 16 nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant brother, Alfred; sister, Edith; and brother, Frank. "Dee Dee" was a professional dancer, a versatile performer, and owned her own dance studio in the Fontainbleau Hotel in Miami Beach. She changed careers and worked for many years at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas until her retirement in 1993, after which she was a volunteer at Desert Springs Hospital. Dee Dee's sense of humor, flair and gracious nature will be a joy to remember. There will be no service or visitation, interment will be at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89123. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Dee Dee can be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Southern Nevada.
