Maurice Delisle Obituary

MSGT. MAURICE DELISLE U.S. Air Force, Retired Maurice Joseph DeLisle, 70, of Las Vegas, passed away Feb. 10, 2011. He was born Jan. 11, 1941, in Bennington, Vermont and moved with his parents to St. Petersburg, Fla. He was a 36-year resident of Nevada. As a young man, he worked several jobs - seafood restaurant and hospital with the elderly. Maurice joined and served the U.S. Air Force for 20 years with tour of duty in Vietnam and Thailand and was retired from the casino industry. Maurice worked on the big planes for the military while on tour. Being stationed at Nellis Air Force base brought Maurice and his family to Las Vegas. Maurice was an avid lover of nature as well as cars. Special thanks to Selena and Ludy for his care. Maurice is survived by his wife, Maxine DeLisle; daughter, Therese Waldow; son-in-law, Jonathan Waldow; son, Maurice G. DeLisle and his wife, Beth DeLisle; and grandson, Luke Waldow. Services will be at 11:20 a.m. Monday, Feb. 28, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd. in Boulder City. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in his memory be made to the Voice of Democracy and Patriots Pen scholarships provided by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 2313.
