Macon , GA- Colonel Grady Douglas Gafford (USAF Retired) of Macon went to be with the Lord on August 19, 2013. The family will greet friends on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 1:00PM at the First Baptist Church of Christ in Macon followed by the memorial service at 2:00PM. The Reverends Scott Dickison and Ben Taylor will officiate. Memorial donations may be made to The First Baptist Church of Christ in Macon, 511 High Place, Macon, Georgia 31201 or to the Macon Rescue Mission, 744 Hazel Street, Macon, Georgia 31201.

Grady was a true Southern Gentleman. He always had a smile on his face and was glad to see you. Every Sunday he had a hug for me and always asked about my husband, Kirby, when he was not with me. He will truly be missed at First Baptist Church--it will not feel good without him.

We are so sorry for your loss. Grady was a wonderful man and it was a privilege to have him in our lives. From teaching us how to drive to so very much more, Grady was there for all of us. We will treasure our memories of him.
