Mrs. Peters was a lovely lady; whom I got to know over the years of doing her hair. She was always gracious and we enjoyed numerous coversations about family and travels. I will miss her greatly; but know she is in a much better place.

As a former President of the Dixie Lee Chapter of the COC, I learned what it meant to be a chivalrous gentleman, not from medieval history, but from this wonderful lady. Mrs. Peters you are still the standard by which I measure true ladies by to this day.
Thank you, Robert Leverette
PS. I still do not like practicing speaking in front of a mirror! :-)

Ellen was such a joy to be around and a true symbol of an elegant Southern Belle. The memories we have of her involvement in the UDC, Col. Thomas Hardeman Jr. Chapter will be treasured. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Mrs. Peters was immensely respected and revered by the members of the Dorothy Blount Lamar Chapter of the CofC. Although she was an advisor for our 'rival' chapter she fostered a sense of inclusion and collaboration between the 2 chapters. We loved her as our own. She was a role model for what it means to be a Southern Lady.

Ellen was in our Sunday School Department at First Baptist. I remember her as one of the most elegant and sweetest people I know. She always had a kind word for me, and everyone. I enjoyed taking her flowers from our Sunday morning Sanctuary flowers, and was planning to see her again soon. I really miss her. Kathryn Baker, Macon
