Warner Robins, GA- James Monroe Shue, 82, entered into rest on Monday, May 12, 2014.
James was born on February 3, 1932 in Concord, North Carolina to the late Matthue Monroe and Mary Thornburg Shue. He proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard during the Vietnam Era and Korean Conflict retiring with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. James called Mikado Baptist his church home. He was also a member of the VFW Post #658 of Macon and the Mason Macon Lodge #5.
His former wife, M. Irene Shue and his parents preceded him in death.
James' memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Dot Crenshaw Shue of Warner Robins, Georgia; children, Bryan Shue (Diana) of Oceanside, California, Rebecca Thomas (Joe) of Warner Robins, Georgia, Monte Shue (Julia) of Macon, Georgia, and Mark Shue (Charlotte) of Statesboro, Georgia; stepchildren, Jay Crenshaw, Wanda Makuch and Chris Henderson (Bobby), all of Macon, Georgia; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Ruth Mullis (James), Jack Shue (Linda), Nellie Coble, and Bob Shue (Naomi); several nieces and nephews; and beloved pet dog, "Buddy."
Visitation will be Thursday, May 15, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2014 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given to Disabled Veterans of America: Dept. of Georgia, 4462 Houston Ave., Macon, GA 31206.
