John Beaver February 9, 1955 - October 27, 2007 -SHELBY, NC - Mr. John Henry Beaver of 132 Eagles Nest Way in Shelby, NC died Saturday, October 27th while on a short vacation with his wife, Caroline in Cherokee, NC. John was born and raised in Cleveland County, North Carolina. He was Division Manager for Engineering & Quality Services for GCA Production Services, Inc. where he recently achieved a six-sigma green belt certification. John formerly worked as a processing engineer and Finishing Plant Manager at Cleveland Mills. He was a 1973 graduate from Crest Senior High and obtained his degree in Industrial Management from Cleveland Community College in 2000. John was an avid golfer and loved spending time with his family. -His father, C.D. Beaver preceded him in death. -He leaves behind his beloved wife of almost 11 years, Caroline Beaver of the home; his mother, Ray Beaver, of Shelby, NC; three children, John Beaver Jr. and wife, Amanda, Andrea Sanders, and Phyllis Tenille Beaver all of Shelby, NC; two stepdaughters, Ami Shroyer and husband, Buck of Bradford, PA and Sally Round and husband, Chris of Macon, GA; three brothers, Bruce Beaver of High Shoals, NC, Keith Beaver and wife, Kathy, and Karl Beaver and wife, Dorothy of Shelby, NC. He was known as "Pop-Pop" to his admiring grandchildren, Matthew and Alisha Beaver (children of John Jr.), Josh, Justin, and Austin Sanders (children of Andrea), Emily Beaver (child of Phyllis), Alaura and Derek Shroyer (children of Ami), and Morgan and Jonah Round (children of Sally). Nieces and nephews surviving are Ashley Beaver (child of Bruce), Tyler and Desiree Timer (children of Ashley), Kristy and Kyle Beaver (children of Keith), and Justin Martin (child of Dorothy); and his in-laws, James and Caroline Phillips of Gray, GA. -The family will receive friends on Monday, October 29, 2007 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home in Shelby, NC and at other times at the home, as well as at the home of his mother, 304 Plato Lee Road, Shelby. -Funeral services will be held at 2P.M. Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at Beaver Dam Baptist Church in Shelby. - The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. -A private family burial will be held in Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery. -The Rev. Phil Hughes, Dr. J. Barry Goodman, The Rev. Paul Sorrells, and The Rev. Ken Pruitt. -In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Cleveland-Rutherford Kidney Association, 1017 N. Washington Street, Shelby, NC 28150 or to The Boys and Girls Club of Cleveland County, P.O.
