My deepest sympathy and prayers go to all of Buddys family and extended family. Buddy was so proud of his children and loved them so much.
I have so many fond memories of Buddy. I met Buddy thru PWP and we became fast friends. Milton, Buddy, Stella and I often went places as a group of friends and we always had so much fun. Buddy could tell the funniest story with a straight face, right up until the punchline was delivered and then he just couldn't help but crack up with everyone else.
I remember a weekend that we all went to Savannah with PWP. Milton and Buddy always shared a room, as did Stella and I. We had been to a PWP dance that Saturday night. After the dance we all decided we were hungry , but it was late so we decided to order room service and eat in Stella and my room. Buddy and Milton went back to their room for a few minutes to take their suit jackets off, then they came down to our room to eat. When they knocked on the door, both of them had little flower vases in their hands with a flower in them. They said "we brought you ladies some flowers". Of course Stella and I ooohhhed and aahhed, and thanked them, thinking they had actually gotten us flowers from somewhere. Then they both cracked up and pulled us out in the hall, and pointed down the hall to room service trays that had been set outside of other rooms when the people were thru with them. Buddy and Milton had looked up and down the hall at the trays until they had found two of the little vases to bring us each a flower. I still have that little vase today. This was just one of the funny things that happened.
Although Buddy was often quiet, he was always a very kind, loving person. I know he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
