Macon, Georgia - After a long and courageous battle with complications from pulmonary hypertension, Dr. Sandra Lea Hamm Gibbs, age 61, of Macon, Georgia, passed away, surrounded by loved ones, early in the morning on Monday October 25th, 2021.
Sandra was born on November 30, 1959 to the late Charles Augustus Hamm, Sr. and Marie Parker Hamm of Elberton, Georgia. She currently resided in Macon, Georgia and worked as a full-time Physician in Cochran, Georgia.
She met the love of her life, Henry Thomas Gibbs, in 1980, and they married in 1988. They had their first and only child, a baby girl, Lauren Brittany Gibbs, in March of 1991.
She is survived by her husband Henry, daughter Lauren, four sisters, two brothers, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family requests that all flowers are sent to Hicks & Son's Mortuary in Macon, Georgia. There will be a funeral service held on Thursday, November 04, 2021, at 2:00pm at Steward Chapel AME Church.
