Wayne Granade Obituary
September 11, 1945 - July 17, 2023
Gordon, Georgia - Wayne Morgan Granade, age 77, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 17, 2023. Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 22nd, 2023 at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Morris officiating. Burial with Masonic Graveside Rites will follow at Snow Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Granade was born in Gordon, Georgia on September 11, 1945, to the late Claude Bigham Granade and Idell Holder Granade. He was a graduate of Auburn University earning a B.A. in Electrical Engineering. He worked for Georgia Power Company for 32 years working the majority of his career at Plant Branch. He was a member of Georgia Power Sinclair-Oconee Ambassadors since 2001. He was a Mason for 52.24 years and a member of the Gordon Benevolent F & AM Lodge No. 240. He was a member of the Scottish Rite and Shriners.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Vinson Granade of Gordon; two sons; John Myles Granade of Auburn, AL and Wesley Morgan Granade (Sandy) of Sharpsburg; brother, Ronnie Granade (Gail) of Gordon; two sisters; Claudette Vance of Gordon and Wanda Garrett (James) of Dudley; six grandchildren; Nicole Granade, Dr. Joseph Granade, Morgan Davis (Conner), Adam Granade, Sam Granade, and Jasmine Granade, and also survived by a number of nieces; and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Gene Vance.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gordon Masonic Lodge No. 240, Gordon, Georgia 31031.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:00 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.
