FALL RIVER / MADISON - Bernard G. "Bernie" Pellett, age 81, of Fall River, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025. He was born on February 21, 1944, in Richland Center, the son of Gerald and Carol (Hockenberry) Pellett. Bernie graduated from East High School in 1962. He married Judy (Burke) Pellett in 1964, and they were able to celebrate 53 years together. Bernie was an over the road truck driver for most of his life, with 20 years at Oscar Mayer and he was also an independent driver. His favorite motto was "You're not lost if you have gas in the tank."
Some of his favorite things in his younger years were bowling, snowmobiling, golfing and playing cards. He loved watching the Brewers, Packers and Westerns, with Gunsmoke being his favorite. He will be greatly missed.
Bernie is survived by his daughter, Christine (Steve) Venden of Albany; son, Dan (Brandi) Pellett of Fall River; two grandchildren, Stephanie (Dennis) Hayes of Jefferson and Courtney (Blake) Steffens of Madison; three great-grandchildren, Riley Hayes, Bailey Hayes and Bentley Hayes; sister, Madelyn Mecum Severson of Cottage Grove; brother, Whitey Pellett of Waunakee; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy; his parents; and brothers, Don Pellett and Gordy Pellett.
A short funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 12 noon on Thursday, August 21, 2025, with the Rev. Scott Marrese-Wheeler presiding. Burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
