Donna C. Murdoch
Donna C. Murdoch died at the age of 90. She was born to Earnest and Marguriette Wenger in Blanchardville, WI, on May 23, 1932. She attended Monroe High School and graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1954, with a degree in drama.
She is preceded in death by her ex-husband of 23 years, John Murdoch. She is survived by her loving children: Anne Murdoch and John A. Murdoch; and grandson; J. Alex Murdoch.
Donna was active in theater as a young adult and a life-long fan of good movies and theater. She served as Director of Admissions at Cambridge School of Weston in Massachusetts; during her years of marriage and raising children. Her love of antiques and art led her to serve a stint as an auctioneer when she returned to Wisconsin following her divorce. She was a passionate advocate for civil rights and the mentally ill. She served as a board member for the Alliance for the Mentally Ill of Dane County; for many years and founded the Cornucopia Arts Center. She designed several editions of the NAMI Wisconsin Consumer and Family Resource Guide. She was a member of the League of Women Voters of Cambridge, MA; and Dane County and the Prairie Unitarian Universalist Society. In her later years, she resided at Brookdale West, she shared her love of movies and read poetry for other residents.
A Celebration of Life will be held at later date. Memorials in Donna's name may be directed to NAMI of Dane County or Prairie Unitarian Universalist Society.
Family and friends would like to thank the staff at Brookdale West for their attentive care of Donna during her last years.
