James Leroy Willison

March 27, 1948 - August 1, 2025

FITCHBURG - James Leroy Willison, age 77, of Fitchburg, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2025. He was born on March 27, 1948, in Brooklyn, the son of Darrel and Bertha (Roeben) Willison.

James graduated from Oregon High School in 1966 and went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He worked as a computer programmer for his entire career. James enjoyed helping people and always jumped in to lend a helping hand. He loved taking vacations in Branson, Mo., and visiting and hiking state parks.

James will be missed by his sisters, Carol Ann Willison, Beverly Willison and Kathy Whiteaker; and nieces, Amy Willison and Tammy (Jim) Detter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Darrel and Bertha; son, Jerome Willison; brothers, Gerald and Richard Willison; sister-in-law, Mary Willison; and brother-in-law, Walter Whiteaker.

A private graveside service will be held at Willow Valley Cemetery.
