Lyle Hasenberg Obituary
February 25, 1933 - May 4, 2025
MADISON - Lyle J. Hasenberg, faithful husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at the age of 92. Lyle was born on February 25, 1933, in Kenosha, Wis., to Hubert and Frances. He married the love of his life, Marlene Metallo, in 1957.
Lyle retired from the Department of Health and Social Services in the mid-1990s. He was an actively engaged member of St. Dennis Parish, as well as the Schoenstatt Sisters and the Knights of Columbus. He supported PBS and the School Sisters of Notre Dame. He loved to read, fish, and tinker in the garage.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Marlene; children, Lynn (Mike) Kohrs (Andrew and Kelly), Jackie (Chris) Burwell, Karen (Gary) Beck (Anthony Denu) and Paul (Robin) Hasenberg (Alex and Ashton); daughter-in-law, Jane Hasenberg (Gwen and Amy); and brother, Mark T. Hasenberg. He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Dave; sister, Jean Hasenberg SSND; parents; great-grandson, Evander; and many more beloved family members and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at QUEEN OF APOSTLES PARISH, ST. DENNIS CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025. A graveside will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, with a luncheon to follow back at the church. A visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. to the time of the service on Thursday.
