Paul John Palzkill
June 23, 1935 – Feb. 27, 2024
MADISON - Paul John Palzkill, of Madison, Wis., passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024, in Middleton, Wis. He was born on June 23, 1935, in Kendall Township, LaFayette County, Wis., the son of Bernard and Rose (Bradley) Palzkill.
Paul married Bonnie Jane (Cleary) Palzkill on Oct. 5, 1957, in Briggsville, Wis. After Bonnie's death, he married Margaret Ann (Cleary) Palzkill on June 3, 1994, in Madison, Wis. He graduated from Mineral Point High School in May of 1953. Paul worked as a barber at State Street Barber Shop and Kings Korner and was the co-owner of Oliver Shagnasty's Wine Shack with his dear friend and partner, Jon Jackson.
Paul enjoyed fishing and golfing. He was a member of Fitchburg Jaycees, a volunteer of the Fitchburg Fire Department, a parishioner of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and a Knights of Columbus.
Paul will be missed by his wife, Marge Palzkill; children, Dennis (Lisa (Russell)) Palzkill, Anita (Warren) Germann and Brian Palzkill; sisters, Mary Faith Argall, Josephine Von Swol and Jane (Russ) Tonelli; and three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Palzkill; and son, Gary Palzkill.
A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 2950 Chapel Valley Road, Fitchburg, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024, with Father Jay Poster presiding. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12 noon until the time of the service on Saturday.
