Ronald Fritz Obituary

Fritz, Ronald "Ron"

COTTAGE GROVE - It is with heavy hearts we relay that Ron Fritz passed away late last week on Friday, Feb. 11, 2022. He was 72 years old.

Ron was beloved by many. He adored his daughters, grandchildren, and his dog, Frees. Ron's curious mind and gentle heart aided him in connecting with those around him. He was quick to make friends as he loved talking to strangers and meeting new people. Ron didn't want for much. He delighted in simple pleasures such as good conversation, good meals, and tasty chocolates.

Ron had many interests, was an avid fan of Harley Davidson motorcycles and loved NASCAR. Some of Ron's fondest memories were serving on the ARCA Fire and Safety crew from 1985-1995. Ron took great pride in donating to local police K-9 units. He had a huge heart for animals and saw to it that police K-9s were well-cared for and kept safe. He had an unparalleled work ethic and worked at Madison Kipp Corporation as a tool and die welder for almost 50 years.

Ron gave us many great gifts during the time we got to spend with him. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather, an open and accepting presence. He was clever, quick-witted, and good-natured. He is dearly missed.

Ron is survived by his beloved family, former wife, Lois Fritz, with whom he had three daughters, Jessica (Steven) Frey, Melanie Fritz and Katie Fritz; his brother, Lee (Marsha) Fritz; uncle, Bill "Timer" Jones; and the grandchildren he loved so much, Sam Brown, Cale Garity, and Bailey and Ellison Frey. He is preceded in death by his aunt, Kathryn Rainbolt; aunt, Lois "Shorty" Jones; uncle, Warren Klotzbach; and his former father-in-law, Ray Wall.

No services will be held at this time. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

A wonderful co-worker from Kipp. He would always stop me in the aisle at Kipp to remind me that my Dad hired him and he told me a story about Sergeants and how they differ from the army and the marines. I shall always remember Ron.

Very saddened hearing about Rons passing.
I worked with Ron for 37 years.
We would always check on each other's well being, and exchange family and life stories.
He would always ask about how my boys were doing, and I would find out about his daughters.
You could see the love he had for his daughters, and also when the Grandkids came along.
We would always be exchanging pics from each other's families.
Every time he had new pics, he would come down and show me!
He had profound respect for the Men and Women in the service, and would on a regular basis ask me to give my dad a thank-you for his service in WWII.
He had a huge heart and would give the shirt off his back to someone in need.
I know he will be missed. He was a good, strong, family-oriented man.

You will be dearly missed. Not only were you a great counterpart to weld with at work, you were a great man and a damn good friend. I'm going to miss the hell out of you buddy. Always with your witty humor. You sure could brighten up even the darkest day. Hope God has a good sense of humor to handle your wit. Nothing but love and respect.

RIP Ron. You were always a wonderful man to talk to as you had an interest in the things that I talked about. I know you had a work ethic that was something that I admired. I thank you for that.
